I started driving when I was 12. I drove everywhere and my friends back then road with me on occasions. I never had an accident so when I passed my driving test with flying colors and got my license they never thought twice to get in the car with me.
Back in the day "1996" everyone was fascinated with bass so they would buy huge speakers and blast their music. I decided as a present to myself I would gather my friends and get some speakers. My mom told me not to go out in the bad weather; but I ignored her advise....
Needless to say we ended up flipping the car and totaling it beyond repair. The car flipped so much that it looked like a pancake. My high school friends started coming by wishing their condolences to my mom when they saw the car. I had to come down stairs and tell them I was alive. I lost a shoe in the wreck and I ended up walking out barefooted. My mom seems to believe that people usually die in that sort of ritualistic pattern. I was just happy to be alive.
In 2001 I worked at the pentagon for a long time, and I was responsible for database administration for a division called Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO). I had forgotten about this entirely until I was reminded at a trade show conference about our whereabouts during 9/11.
I remember having a car accident a week before the attack on the United States. I was so pissed because my car would do funny things like cut off and start up when it wanted to. My wife at the time was nice enough to buy us a truck after the accident and when your in your early twenties that is a big purchase.
However on that day I decided to take the car to work and it failed on me and I was forced to go back to home. I was going to borrow the truck that day; but I just ended up working at home on some side projects. Then my best friend at work gave me a call and she said that a plane flew into one of the towers and immediately the phones were shaky. She then told me to turn on the TV and the phone cut out.
I think back to that day and I think I have been blessed my whole life. All of my misfortunes have turned out to be blessings and I have accepted that there is an angel watching over me and that I have to obey his (God) word through his works.
A few months afterwards my pregnant wife asked me to get some nachos and cheese because she had a craving that would not quit. Since she was the most awesome woman in the world I decided to get her, favorite snack. I went to the store and purchased the items. I got to the light and decided to play my favorite jam "Jesse Powell, you" and when I reached for the CD I dropped it. I was so pissed but light turned green. The car behind me beeped its horn and I wanted my CD 1st. When I bent over to get the CD at the instance a huge 18 wheeler passed by us and nicked my bumper.
That is when I knew that his power was more greater than I could ever imagine. I often think his angel knocked the CD out of my hand.
